NDA

National Defence Academy

The NDA(National Defence Academy) is the Combined Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three branches, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force study together before heading to the respective Military Academy for further training. The NDA'S place is in Pune, Maharashtra, Khadakwasla. It is the world's first three-stage Academy. National Defence Academy is a major joint educational organization and centre of excellence to develop junior leaders for friendly foreign countries Indian Armed Forces and Air Forces.

The main focus of the Academy is to offer their students proper training and education for the preparation of NDA and designed the modules for the betterment of our students.


NDA FOUNDATION

The NDA Foundation courses for students in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades are held in Maa Tutorial for four years. In the background of this class, we cover the entire NDA curriculum in order to help any student get through the written NDA test. Thus, candidates will rely on skills and expertise from their NCERT books and MKC Publishing Books and improve their odds of scraping the exam in the first try. If it's an Indian Navy, Air Force, or Army, our main goal is to help and train each student for NDA defence-related exams.

NDA Regular I

The NDA Foundation courses for students in 11th and 12th grades held in Maa Tutorial for two years.

NDA Regular II

The NDA Foundation courses for students after 12th grade held in Maa Tutorial for one year.


NDA selection method

Admission to the above courses will be made on the basis of the results of the written examination conducted by the commission and followed by intelligence and personality test by the Service Selection Board.

Educational qualification for appearing in eExamination:

(i) For Army wing of National Defence Academy: -12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education.

(ii) For Air force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 cadet entry scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: – 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics No minimum percentage required


Age limits

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under the 10+2 pattern of school education can also apply for the examination.

Examination Scheme and NDA selection Process

Written Examination

  • Paper I

    Mathematics - 300 marks (120 questions) duration of exam is 2½ Hours

  • Paper II

    General Ability Test - 600 marks (150 questions) duration of exam is 2½ Hours

Interview

SSB Interview: 900 Marks.
Papers of all subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

Syllabus and question paper pattern for NDA Selection:

Paper I, Mathematics (Questions-120, Max. Marks -300)
Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Vector Algebra, Statistics and Probability.

Paper II, General Ability Test (Questions-150, Max. Marks -600)
General Ability Test consists two parts

Part-A – English (Questions-50, Maximum Marks-200)
Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English e.g. Spotting errors, sentence improvement, fill in the blanks, antonyms, selecting words in a passage, comprehension Passages etc.

Part ‘B’ – General Knowledge (Questions-100, Maximum Marks-400)
History , Politics, Geography, General Science, Physics, Chemistry , Biology, Current affair Books, Sports.

Intelligence and personality Test for NDA selection

Verbal and non-verbal tests, group discussions, group planning, outdoor group tasks and asked to give brief lectures on specified subjects.
All these tests are intended to judge the mental caliber of a candidate, his social traits and interests in current affairs.
